Tollie *HELP*

~ The shelter would like to give our sincere thanks to Leanne and Craig who have been sponsoring our sweetheart Tollie. Even though they cannot adopt her, they are making her stay here far more comfortable with donations of her special food, treats, toys and warm jackets~ Tollie came into our care here at the shelter in the middle of last year. She was young, energetic, and thrilled to meet anyone and anything. On nice days here, her favorite thing to do is lay in the sun and have volunteers (young or old) rub her belly. Staff quickly realized this young girl, only about 8 months old at the time, would require some special care. Her back legs were under-developed and she seemed to have trouble keeping her balance while walking. Initial consults showed that she had very premature hip dysplasia and weak knees. She was started on a special diet to provide her with extra supplements for her joints and continues to require it. After a few months, her hips have showed improvement but her knees have become worse. We are currently working with veterinarians on a plan to fix her up. She will most likely need corrective surgery on both of her back knees in the near future. Seeing as this will be an expensive surgery, we are asking for the help of anyone out there who would be able to donate for her care or provide a safe environment for her recovery after the surgery.
