Tiko

Tiko likes to explore, so an appropriately fenced yard and daily walks are a good match for him. He was found on the side of the road in a rural village in NM having been grasped by a car. Brought to rescue, hospital, he was relatively unscathed, except for some road rash burns. However, in our discovery it was found that Tiko was both neutered and microchipped. Rescue did due diligence and discovered he had been adopted, several years ago, fro, a local shelter. We reached out to through the contact information and we’re unable to find his owners. Now he is a candidate for adoption. We also found out that he has a congenital heart condition called Pulmonic Stenosis. We did confer with local veterinary care, ran tests, and then bumped it up to the coronary heart specialist in CO. He could be a candidate for ballon valvopasty, that would give him both an extended and better quality of life as he ages, he is currently 7 years old. He does not present with any real activity concerns at this time, and because we are a small shop rescue with a plethora of dogs with urgent medical needs, our board has (at this time) determined that we will not move forward with this procedure. However, we are open to donations and/or that very special someone who could take this expense on. Meanwhile, we are looking for a loving home for this very deserving little dog, so that he may spend whatever time he has left in love, comfort and good care.
