My Story

Thunder is looking for a forever family to call his own.

Thunder is a purebred Weimaraner. He came to us from the pound so severely emaciated that as skinny as he is in the pictures, he is about 15 pounds heavier than he was when we first got him. He is the Blue variety color and his tail is docked at the correct length.

Thunder's Foster Mom has found that he is good with other dogs and does great around her cats. Thunder is a BIG BOY who is very shy, but sweet as can be. He is looking for someone to take him into their family and love and care for him forever so he can return the favor.

He gets along with everyone, is very loving, loves to wrestle, play tug, and chase with his foster brother Benson. Thunder is very mellow in the house, except when Benson gets him going! Just listen to this big guy run up and down the stairs and you can see why we call him 'thunder!'

His foster mom is working on crate training (he's not a fan of it in the beginning), but once he's in there he settles down and is fine. He is crated to protect himself from anything in the house he shouldn't get into when mom is gone. He is also working on his house-training (another reason crating is so handy!). He will not potty in the house if he is let out at regular intervals, however he doesn't give much warning (yet) when he does have to go. We suggest using a crate if you cannot watch him indoors, or be as viliglant as if you had a puppy when you are home.

Thunder has already learned to sit! He doesn't jump on you either, so that is good because he's big. He is also learning that the kitchen is off limits - as he is always scavenging for food bits. That's what happens when you used to be starving! He is so eager to please.

Thunder's adoption fee is $150, which includes his nueter surgery and vaccinations (parvo/distemper and rabies.)

If you think Thunder would make a good addition to your family, please email us: [email protected] or leave a message @ 435/752-3534. Please be patient with us getting back to you as we are all volunteers with full-time jobs.

Thanks for your interest in this wonderful dog!!
