My Story

ADOPTED! - Meet Teddy, a unique combination of Bassett and Labrador Retriever! (We COULD claim he's a "designer dog" and call him a "Bassador", but--like ALL "designer dogs"--he's really just a lovable mutt!) Teddy is 5 years old, he weighs about 48 lbs., he's housebroken, neutered and up to date on all of his shots , he's heartworm negative, and has been microchipped. He's good with kids (and is sturdy enough that we wouldn't have to worry about him being inadvertently injured if he were stepped on by a toddler). Teddy is fine with other dogs and cats, he walks nicely on a leash, he's VERY loving and EXCEPTIONALLY smart, he knows "sit" etc., and he rides in the car like an angel. Teddy is well behaved and quiet in the house, he loves to go to the dog park and his very favorite game is to play "fetch" with a ball. What more could you ask for? Teddy is the perfect size, the perfect age, and he is the perfect mix of fun and couch potato! (OK....OK....We have to admit that he snores when he sleeps, but....other than THAT, we think he's perfect!) And--since he's just about the perfect dog--we're waiting to hear from the perfect potential adopter. Teddy would enjoy a fenced yard (he loves the outdoors) and he would also enjoy having someone around much for the time, so an owner who is retired, semi-retired, or works out of their home (or home schools their children) would be perfect for him. (We also think Teddy would make an excellent therapy dog candidate.) If you are interested in possibly adopting him, please send us an e-mail telling us a little about yourself and your present living situation. Then, if we feel you would be a good fit for Teddy (and if we feel that Teddy would be a good fit for you) we will e-mail you an adoption application to fill out.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a
humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name below this dog's photo) before contacting us.
