My Story

Are you looking for a little buddy who likes to go everywhere with you? Teddy is a sweet, fun, and cheerful little guy who loves to be near his person all the time. He's a chihuahua/dachshund mix also called a "Chiweenie". Teddy is around 1-1.5 yrs old and a small pup weighing 9 lbs. He walks great on a leash, loves hikes, and is easy going. Teddy is eager to please and gets along with everyone, dogs, cats, and kids, and tends towards submissiveness. He's a selective eater and enjoys chewing on a bone or bully stick in his bed for entertainment. He sleeps well through the night, and prefers to cuddle as much as possible. Teddy is a bit of a velcro dog, and we are working on his separation anxiety. He will whine if left alone, but will eventually settle down in a crate at night. So far he does not bark at all. Teddy has a great smile, giant expressive ears, and soulful brown eyes. He still has a bit of puppy energy and can be silly and playful. Teddy was found in a rural area and we don't know his background. He can be a bit timid at first with new things, and then quickly gains confidence. He would do best with someone who is home most of the time and wants a buddy to hang out nearby, and who has the patience to work with him on his separation anxiety. Getting enough exercise helps him to relax as well. Teddy is a sweetheart who is looking for a love match! PACA is a Foster-Based Rescue with no shelter. We have adoption clinic on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11a-2pm at 6300 San Mateo (along the grass next to Academy Rd) in the southern end of the Spouts Market parking lot volunteer staffing/weather permitting. You can complete and easy online application here: https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The $250 adoption fee covers S/N, microchip, vaccines and heartworm/tic borne illness testing.
