If you’re looking for an awesome buddy who is on the smaller side and a striking “fox red” color, you’ll love getting acquainted with five year old Tanner. This wonderful boy with a very gentle, kind face came to us when his family could no longer keep him. The change from a family pet to a homeless pup has been hard for Tanner and he finds himself at a very thin 48 pounds ready to be plumped up.
Friendly Tanner has lived his life as a family dog and is great with other dogs and cats too. He’s crate trained, likes to go hunting, play Frisbee, go on car rides and take long walks. Tanner knows sit and shake and is responsive to his name. There’s no doubt he’s a smart boy who learns quickly. A food motivated youngster, he takes treats very gently and is pretty interested in what’s up there on the counter. “Sniffed out some Girl Scout cookies and they were mighty good!” winks Tanner.
Tanner is a sensitive boy who has been a bit shaken by all the changes in his life. He will flourish in a home where his family is home more than away and can commit to the time to helping him feel settled in and secure once again. Daily exercise is a must for this athletic little guy and a dog buddy to hang out with would be perfect.
