Left behind with the garbage when his owners decided to move out of their apt., the manager went in to check at month's end & found a starving dog barely alive, skin and bones. Noone had seen the tenants for over a week.
I happened to be at the city pound when Tadpole was carried in in a dirty cardboard box taped on top. A ridiculous argument over a surrender fee ensued and as I with trepidation, proceeded to peek into the box, lo and behold was an emaciated but breathing, Yorkie/schnauzer type dog. He looked like a little bird.
Safely here now and on the mend, Tadpole is an affectionate and hearty little guy looking forward to every next bite and lots of warm blankets and hugs. He cleaned up well and his thinning fur due to malnourishment is filling in along with his little frame. Soft silky silvery hair and only about 3 pounds, he stands to be a lovely dog and terrific companion.
He will be neutered after gaining weight. Right now we are not worrying about his house habits.
