Taco

ADOPTED!
Taco is a GREAT dog, and he is so unique looking that we think he should be in movies! (He looks a little "fierce" in his photos, but he is anything BUT "fierce". We just couldn't make him smile for the camera!) He was surrendered to the shelter by his elderly owner who could no longer care for a dog. Taco weighs about 25 lbs., and is about 16 inches tall--just the "right" size, don't you agree? The staff at our vet clinic fell in love with Taco (while he was there being neutered) and they all thought he was the sweetest, most darling dog they had ever seen. He is full of life and he adores people. He loves to play (but isn't "hyper") and he is very well behaved for a dog his age (about one year, we're guessing). He is working on his housebreaking skills, but he will need an owner who will be home much of the time to help him continue his training. Taco gets along well with other dogs and he enjoys teasing and chasing the cats in his foster home. He would make a great family dog for someone with older children who have been taught to treat an animal with respect. In fact, we would prefer that he GO to a home with another dog and/or (gentle) children to play with! (And--because he is such a social, people-loving dog--we don't want him to spend his days home alone as a "latch key" dog . In other words, we prefer that he not be left home alone for long periods of time while his owner is at work/school). We also think he would enjoy living in a home with a fenced yard (no tie-outs or electric "fences" please). Taco is the nearly-perfect little dog, so we're waiting for just the right adopter to come along. Might that be you?
