My Story

Tabitha is the sweetest, most docile dog I've ever had. Her story started out very grim: I found her on the side of the road moments after she'd been hit by a car. Because the main impact was to her head, she was bleeding out of her nose, salivating profusely, vomiting, and whining hysterically. She was stuck on her back, like an overturned turtle, kicking her legs wildly. I drove her to the vet, and, miraculously, she didn't die on the way. She spent four days in a coma, motionless, expressionless. I was told she was about as good as dead. During this time, I decided to name her 'Tabitha' as a prayer to God to save her life. (In the Bible, Tabitha was a woman who was raised from the dead.) I was willing to take her in and pay whatever the bill came to, even if it meant she was crippled or badly brain damaged. Thank God, on the fourth day she stood up and started walking in tiny circles to the right. Her progress has been fantastic since then, and I have been monitoring and encouraging her for several months. She is surprisingly athletic, curious, and loving. "Tabby" needs a very loving, secure home where she will receive gentle treatment and have lots of space to play. She's an angel and gets along with everyone.
