Estimated to be about 5 years old. Behaves more like 2-3. He’s house trained, will sit, down, and sit/stay while you put his food down for him. He doesn’t mind being in a crate. He has a lot of energy, he’s very strong, and gets excited. Would probably do best in a home without small children. He loves other dogs. I believe he would thrive if he had another dog to play with. He plays rowdy, running and jumping. His favorite toys are squeaker stuffies but he likes to remove the squeakers. His favorite game is tug of war. He’ll play fetch but gets distracted and doesn’t always bring the ball right back. His favorite place to be is on your lap or leaning against your legs. He really hasn’t been much of a barker. Stefano was brought to the shelter as a stray, but it doesn’t seem as though he spent much time on his own. He did experience some shelter stress and was scheduled to be euthanized. We saved him just in time and he is an amazing dog. The shelter had some issues with a vet visit and a volunteer was nipped while stroking his side/abdomen. We have tried to test him over and over and haven’t been able to trigger any sort of aggression. We’ve taken toys from him, put my hand in his food dish, taken chewed up squeakers right out of his mouth. He throws himself into our laps belly up and loves being held and pet. I’ve done some muzzle training with him and he was good with that as well. We have a pet camera on him when we’re not home and he has always been very chill and lays around or plays with his treat toy. Not a chewer. Does well with enrichment toys and puzzles. If we didn’t have a full house already, we would adopt him in a heartbeat. He was clearly loved before the shelter. He is so appreciative and loving to us. He’s an easy foster.
