Squirt

NOTE: SQUIRT HAS GONE TO LIVE WITH THE WOLFE FAMILY - TWO GREAT BOYS AND A NEW BEST FRIEND, NINA. OH YES, AND THERE ARE TWO NICE ADULTS TOO. THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT INQUIRED ON SQUIRT AND WISHED HER THE BEST. SHE NOW HAS IT!!! Just when I thought I'd seen the saddest dog or heard the saddest story Squirt arrived. She was found on an interstate highway lying in the middle of a lane. The people who drove over her realized; 1. she was not a dead rabbit or even looked like anything they'd ever seen and 2. she in fact was not dead. They stopped and picked her up. Squirt weighed in a just over 2 pounds. She was literally tiny bones with skin. The vet said "probably no chance to save her" but of course we tried - and saved she was. She had already had a litter of puppies, had her tail broken in three different places, had obviously lived in her own feces and then was thrown out to die in the cold. The first few days Squirt never moved. We hydrated her three times a day with bags of saline solution larger than she was. Somehow I knew Squirt would make it and somehow she did. Now she's looking for the PERFECT home. She is very tiny and very sweet. She follows your every step and wants nothing more than to be with you, sit on your sofa, sleep in your bed and ride in the car where ever you go. She is house trained and can be left in the house without being crated. She is wonderful with children of all ages but needs to go to a home that does not have small children due to her very small size. We think she is only about 2 or 3 years old. Squirt deserves the best life a dog can have. She has endured much and has come through it a stable, well behaved, loving little dog.
