Spunky

Spunky is an adorable 1 year old male Dachshund in need of a new home. We received this little guy into rescue when he was only 7 months old and his leg was broken. His owner didn't have the money to pay for the repair and so he turned the dog over to rescue. We immediatly had an orthopedic specialist in town repair the break and the results are amazing! Spunky doesn't even have a limp, he runs full speed all day long and has no negative effects from the break other than a scar. The surgeon placed a tiny plate and 7 tinier screws in Spunky's leg that will stay there forever and will never need to be removed. So now that he is fully healed we are looking for a perfect home for this special little guy. He is a true mini and his weight at the vet a few days ago was 8.0lbs although he is lean due to his high energy level. Spunky loves everybody and everything including all other dogs as well as cats and people. Spunky is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated already and is ready to go as soon as the right home is found. We are being extra picky as to what type of a home he goes to. We are looking for a retired person/persons who own a home and have a yard. Spunky is very active and would love to go on daily walks as well as run around his backyard and chase birds. This guy would do great with another doxie as he loves to play and his little tail never stops wagging.
