Sportster is an awesome dog. He is going to make a fantastic addition to some lucky family.
Typical of his breed in stature and temperament, Sportster is a friendly, charming and happy boy. He is only 1 ½ years young with lots of puppy-like energy so he’ll need a big yard where he can really stretch out to run and play. He is lean, agile, loves playing with balls, chew and stuffed toys. He is attentive and a quick learner. He is good at exercising himself in a large yard and he is very birdy so will need to be taught a proper recall for his own safety.
Like most English Setters his preference is to be wherever his humans are, especially living in the home as a family member where he can snuggle up with you. If he is able to get plenty of exercise he calms down quickly when he is in the house. He is in a foster home where he adapted quickly and gets along with the resident dogs and cats. He will do well with a resident alpha dog and would love another dog to run and play with. He wants to please and will bond with his humans quickly and he is looking for a gentle and loving home. He follows his foster mom from room to room in the house. He loves to ride in the car and is doggy door and crate trained.
