Splasher is young a Tricolor (Black splotch on back) may be pure Aussie. One of his eyes is half blue (very unusual). Aussies often have one or 2 blue eyes. He was found Abandoned. He is about 50 lbs. Beautiful dog. Good with other dogs and cats. Very mellow. Affectionate. If you would like, we can place Splasher on hold for you -  there is no obligation to adopt nor any cost for a hold.  Please send me your phone # for the hold.  Our adoption manager Aileen will then call and talk with you about the adoption. You can then meet him at our weekly adoption fair at the Colorado Springs North Academy Blvd. PetsMart store on Saturday (6/19/10) at 11 am.  The store is on North Academy Blvd just off the I-25, exit 150 (the store is on the right 4 blocks south of the I-25 exit - 7680 N. Academy). We have been adopting through PetsMart and meeting their high customer standards for 8 years now. If you live closer to San Luis CO which is in the San Luis Valley let me know our shelter is open by appointment. Australian Shepherds are medium in size, easy to groom, require a good amount of exercise. Trustworthy and very intelligent. The Australian Shepherd is compact, strong, alert, and agile. This breed is trustworthy, courageous, and is exceedingly devoted to the duties they are given. A member of the working and herding group, the Australian Shepherd is a combination of substance, balance, power, and hard muscular condition. An extremely intelligent, loyal, and affectionate breed, the Australian Shepherd is protective of their family, home, and territory. They thrive on human interaction and activity. This breed is good with children they have been raised with. They are typically suspicious of strangers. This breed will attempt to herd and nip at the heels of anything and everything that moves.
