My Story

Arrival story: Sparky was rescued from a rural shelter.

Approximate age / weight: 6-8 Months old and approx. 15 lbs.

Personality: Sparky is a little firecracker! He loves people, especially men--he seems to gravitate towards them first. All the neighbors around his foster mom's house have completely fallen for this little guy. He's a very quick learner and is easy to please (very treat motivated). He is still working on his potty training but is getting better.

He is currently fostered with another dog who he loves to play with but he can be overwhelming to some dogs when first meeting them. He is still learning how to properly greet other dogs (he just gets so darned excited) but he is getting better. If he didn't have another foster doggie, he would be quite the little lap dog actually.

Forever home: Sparky is going to need a home that can provide him with lots of activity, socialization, interaction and be dedicated to helping him learn what all young pups and dogs need to know so they can grow up into well mannered adult dogs. In return, he will shower you with love and devotion. Because of his energy level, he cannot be placed in a home with children under the age of 8. While not required, a physical fence would be ideal for Sparky.

Pre-Adoption Application::

To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to the contact listed above.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, $275 for small breed dogs or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.

Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check
www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
