After living with my family for 6 years, they moved to a place that didn't allow large dogs. I am a little confused right now, not quite knowing where I belong and what is expected of me; but I try to remain happy and am looking forward to a new owner I can bond with. I am 9 years old, so I am kind of a senior citizen in doggie years, but I am so bouncy and full of energy that you would think at times that I am a puppy! (I am a Labrador, after all!)
I love to go for car rides and I can jump into the back of my foster mom's SUV with no problem, so I still have a lot of spring in my legs. I know sit, and I know it even better when food is involved! I walk quite well on a leash and going for a walk is one of my all-time favorite things to do. I get along well with other dogs as long as they aren't too young and obnoxious. I still enjoy playing, but not for as long or as hard as I used to, you know.
I have been around children and am always drawn to the ones that come into Petco when my foster mom takes me there on Saturdays. I might be a bit big for very small children, but I can adapt to about anyone else, young or old, as long as I get plenty of love and attention. I am even respectful of cats! My last family said I was an outside dog, but I sure know what doors are for and I enjoy being inside with my people. I am housebroken, of course. I have had my vet check and I am in great health. Being a dog, I live for the moment and all I ask is some quality of life for the good years I have left.
