My Story

Meet Smith! We rescued volunteer favorite Smith from Moreno Valley Shelter. He is very friendly and happily greets all visitors with a wagging tail. He leans in for pets and cuddles and loves to play tug with his toys! Smith walks nicely on leash and rides nicely in the car. And, he passed his cat test! Smith is only 7.5 years old - a youngster by Frosted Faces standards! - and weighs 65 lbs. Smith lived in a Foster home for six months. His Foster Mom shared: "Smith is such a wonderful dog! Minor adjustments were needed since he is quite skittish around new noises, loud cars, and busy environments. So, Smith and I often opt for time in the yard playing fetch, and he prances around quite a bit with his stuffed animals until he tires himself out! Smith doesn't require too much exercise and prefers to sleep most of the time, so this works for him. He has come a long way and can walk outdoors pretty well, but that will definitely be something to continue working on with his Forever Family! Smith loves his personal space especially while resting, so I set up a nice playpen with his bed and all his stuffed animal friends and that's his favorite place. He also loves his food and treats, and will also eat all kinds of veggies and fruit offered to him. Turkey bacon and cheddar cheese are extra special treats he gets for bath time only! His favorite activity is sleeping with his favorite crocodile toy 'Coco,' but he also loves chasing tennis balls and can fit 1, 2, and sometimes 3 tennis balls in his mouth! I also think it's amazing that he does SO great when left alone in the house while I'm away. No separation anxiety or accidents indoors! Also he never ever steals anything or chews on things. No jumping on counters either. He will just sleep on the couch or his bed and wait for humans to come home. Smith has come SUCH a long way! I've really enjoyed watching him experience new things and become comfortable with new sounds and places while he's been with me. It's like you can see his confidence grow by the day. I'm so excited for him to find his forever family so he can continue building on all the improvements he's made."
