Courtesy Posting: URGENT! Riverside Shelter, San Jacinto location, So Cal – ID #A1809742 - "Smiley“ a cream male chow who is estimated to be 1.5 years old and weighs 37 lbs. Dog friendly. HELP!!! THIS SHELTER IS OVERFULL. WE ARE DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR a CHOW SAVVY, RESPONSIBLE HOME OR FOSTER AND RESCUE. We suspect this handsome chow is related to the four other chows were recently found only miles away two weeks before and ended up in this very shelter. Same age, look and size. Those four chows were added to the euth list as soon as they came off their stray holds, but we have found them rescues. This boy we are calling Smiley” still needs placement with either a good home or foster and rescue. His hold is up 8/2 and we do not want him added to the euth list too and be at risk for euthanasia. What we know so far is Smiley was found as a stray and is now kenneled with another male dog he did not know before, but is doing fine. There are no negative medical or behavior notes at this time. However, once he is off his hold, he can be reassessed and added to the euth list like the others for a minor URI.
