On May 19/09 A litter of 6 puppies arrived at our shelter. They were only 10 days old and their eyes were still closed. Their mother was involved in a bite incident (likely defending her puppies) and was shot by the RCMP, leaving a litter of orphaned puppies. They were brought to a foster home and were bottle fed for several weeks. They are now eating a mixture of kibble and canned food and are thriving. We were unable to see the mother, so are unsure of their exact breeding but our best guess is Shepherd/Husky cross, but two of the males look like they have a bit of Elkhound in them. Slim was born on May 9/09. He is the most Husky looking puppy of his litter. He is blonde with a tan mask around his eyes. Slim is very sweet and affectionate and loves to be cuddled. He enjoys spending time with his siblings, and is well socialized with other dogs and cats. He sleeps quietly through the night in a kennel with his siblings. These puppies will not be available for adoption until July 19/09, but please feel free to submit an application in the mean time! Our dog adoption fee is $150 which includes spay/neuter, shot, rabies shot and microchip. Puppies that are not old enough to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption will require a $300 refundable (upon proof of surgery being presented to MLDHS) spay/neuter deposit.
