My Story

Skookum will be two on August 11 and, oh what a guy. He is your typical large, funny Airedale who just wants to have a good time. Skookum was raised with a female Airedale and older kids. He loves other dogs and all people. Skookum is used to having people at home, a large fenced yard and lots of activity. He has his own bed in the house and enjoys running around playing with other dogs and kids. Skookum's owners are quite active with four wheeling, hiking and camping. This is where Skookum has a disadvantage because he is partially blind; having being diagnosed with celebular hyperlasia as a young pup. This has never held him back but offleash times on outings is too hazardess for Skookum to continue to participate. His owners can't bear to leave him behind when they go so have decided Skookum would be much happier in a home with a lifestyle that would be safer and more consistent for their much loved boy. Please be sure you have an application in with us at www.nwairedalerescue.org and do let us know you are interested in Skookum by emailing Connie Turner at [email protected], Pictures emailed to us of the front and back of your home showing fencing will expedite your application.
