My Story
Meet Sherlock Bones!
Sherlock Bones came into our care at HSCC as a stray from the community. Sherlock Bones is an affectionate, exuberant, strikingly handsome, charcoal colored boy who is a big softie at heart. All he wants is someone to love on and play around with!
Sherlock is a big goofy bundle of joy and enthusiasm and would love to join an active family to romp around with and explore the world! Sherlock Bones is searching for a family that also enjoys swimming in the lake, road trips, long walks and lots of quality couch time. Sherlock may take a moment to warm up to strangers, but once he's feeling safe and secure in a loving home setting, his adorable personality will shine and he will be his bouncy, silly self and will show endless affection to his human family.
Sherlock often goes out on "Pawjama Parties" (a shelter dog sleepover!) with our dog foster families. His most recent foster pawrent says: "It was so great to have Bones! He took a couple of hours to relax when he first got here... Once he did, he wanted to sleep near me for a while, then he was very playful. He independently chose several toys from the toy basket and was working his way through them, throwing them around a little and pulling out the squeakers inside. We went on a longer walk, where he did well, and he was happy to nap for a few hours afterwards. He also had no issues with accidents and was good about letting me know when he needed to go out. He seems fully housetrained."
Searching for a gentle giant to join your crew? Come meet Sherlock Bones at HSCC and see if he could be your new best friend!
Dogs: Sherlock is dog social. Have a dog at home? Come meet Sherlock at HSCC and if it's a good match we will arrange for a time for you to return with your canine companion(s) for a meet and greet prior to heading home.
Cats: We have no information about Sherlock living with cats. Sherlock does have a high prey drive and we would not recommend that he go to a home with cats.
Children: We have no information about Sherlock living with children. Due to his size and strength, he may be most successful in a home with older children, teens and adults.
