My Story
In a world of endless possibilities, I am a very special dog with unique needs and I am eagerly awaiting the perfect adopter to share my journey. Together we can make an amazing team! My name is SherBert and I am a 46 pound, year old blue nose American Pit Bull who is very special soul! Due to an unknown neurological condition, I will need your tender love and care and in return you will have all of my love and sweet kisses.
My health requires regular vet visits and possibly medication for neurological issues. Currently I am on a low dose of Prednisone to keep my immune system in check, which means I can't go to day care or be around lots of unknown dogs. I'll need a home with carpet or rugs to help me get around comfortably, and I may need a little assistance with stairs from time to time. But don't worry, I'm a smart cookie and I catch on quickly. I may have had a rough start in life, as I sometimes cower when approached, but I'm learning to trust and feel safe again.
Presently, I am working on house, crate and leash training. Since I am not a fan of the crate, you may need to twist my paw to get me to go in, but once there, I will settle down. I'm a playful pup at heart. I absolutely adore fetch, although sometimes I might need a little help finding the ball if it rolls out of sight. And let me tell you, I give the cutest little kisses to show my appreciation! I'll definitely need a fenced yard where I can explore and play safely. While I'm a friendly guy, I might do best as the only dog, as some dogs like to pick on me. But, if your furry friend is kind and accepting we might get along well. I also like children.
Are you ready for the kindest boy who will just sit in your lap and let you love and kiss him? Then I'm your guy! I'm searching for people who will make me their whole world, because I know I have so much love to give in return.
Due to my special needs, my adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
