Sheldon

Sheldon was pulled from Mahoning County dog pound. Since being with us he has flourished in his foster home. This handsome boy is around 7 months old and is primarily mixed with Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff) and American Staffordshire Terrier but is 100% adorable! He currently weighs 45 lbs. We guess he might weigh around 80-90 as an adult, but… that’s a guess. He is a very sweet, sensitive loving dog who really enjoys having a doggy playmate. He has gotten along with dogs as small as a Chihuahua and as big as a German Shepherd. He thinks all dogs are his friends. He is potty trained and lets you know he has to go out by ringing potty bells on the door. He is highly treat motivated and is a very quick learner. He knows how to sit, down and will even use a scratch board to keep his front nails short. We have also been working on a whistle recall and he is very enthusiastic to come back to you. He currently eats and sleeps in his crate. We are still working on crate training, he will carry on for a little bit if he feels he is missing out on something. Sheldon is a typical puppy and loves to play but will sometimes annoy older dogs, but in general I found he’s pretty easily redirected. Sheldon's neuter appointment is Aug 9. He will be able to go to his new home after he has a few days to heal. But we are happy to start looking for his family today. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered if appropriate for their age, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate). Unaltered puppies will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract to be done at owner’s expense. If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Akron, Summit County, Ohio area for a meet and greet. All of our dogs reside in foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter. Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. A successful adoption is our goal. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of any dog.
