This dog has been through a horrible experience and has retained his loving and trusting nature. A black Flat Coat Retriever Mix of about 6 months of age, he spent 3 whole days tied to a post, through rain, sun, and cold—NO ONE noticed he was never claimed, that he was indeed ABANDONED! No food, no water, just patiently waiting still tied to the pole, for his master to come back for him. He waited in vain. Suddenly he was helped by a young man and made his way to the safety of Gerdy’s Rescues, where he will be neutered, have his vaccines, & deworming and a good vet check. He is a darling boy, at 44 pounds, nicely playful, knows how to SIT. Sweet natured, this dog will make someone a wonderful pet. As he is young, best suited to a family who has the time to train him and give him the exercise he needs—home all day person would be ideal! He is a very good looking boy and his tail is always wagging. Likely will be good with dogs and cats, as he is happy go lucky in nature. Yes—he was named after the man who found him!!
