Meet Scrappy!!
This happy and goofy boy, Scrappy, is down on his luck and wound up at a rural NC shelter. Our rescue managed to save him from euthanasia.
Scrappy is fearful of most men and will do a low growl. Trainers think Scrappy has either been abused by men, or witnessed men abusing women.
While in the foster home, we learned the following about Scrappy:
- has done very well with the female dog in the home;
- has done great with children in the home that are 7 & 9 years old;
- would do best with a fenced yard, as he does pull on a leash
- is crate trained and working on house training;
- is very playful and will settle down after a few good play sessions each day!
We believe he has some fear based anxiety and needs a calm environment with positive reinforcement. We do not feel comfortable adopting to a home with a male person present as he is so fearful of all men.
Scrappy is 6 years old, a neutered male, and is heartworm negative.
