My Story

Dear Potential Family, If you are looking at my story perhaps you are interested in bringing home a new friend! May I put my fluffy foot forward as a potential candidate? My name is Scout. I am still very young, I am only one years old and full of love and a zest for life! I weigh about 40lbs, and I have a gorgeous coat and the sweetest eyes. First thing to know about me, I LOVE people. I will approach you to get cuddles and attention and the more affection the better. I want you to love me as much as I love you! I am a smart, trainable young man who is eager to please you and show you that I am the bestest boy! I love to play with tug toys and engage my human friends in play. Does that TUG at your heart at all? As a potential new family member candidate I must share both the good and the “not so good” , Ok, here it is. I don’t like other dogs. I said it! I do not want them in my home and in my family and I don’t really want to play with them either. I want my people to myself, please and thank you! Cats? Nope, no thank you to them too! Kids? I have never met them so lets be smart and say kids older than 16 should be fine with supervision, they are people after all and I sure do love them as I shared with you before! So this is what I am looking for people, If you have experience with dogs who are not the best with other dogs, if you can read dogs body language, if you have experience with resource guarding and you are willing work with me by being a positive, kind leader then I think we just might be perfect together! Also, it would be great if you knew a little bit about those amazing working/herding breeds and what they need that might help us out too, because like I said, I am one smart cookie! So what do you say how about we give it a shot? You're probably wondering why it says "Overlooked Pet" next to my name. Well, that means I have been here a the shelter much longer than the other dogs and I'm still here looking for my special someone. The GTHS humans are hoping that shining a little extra spotlight on me will help me find my new home that much faster! My adoption fee is $100 and includes my spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, dewormer and a microchip. If you want to learn more about me, please come visit the GTHS and speak with one of the amazing Adoption Counsellors! The GTHS is open for adoptions from 12pm-4:00pm, every single day of the week and they would be thrilled to introduce you to me! I can't wait to meet you and am looking forward to starting my new life with my new family! Hopeful Tail Wags, Scout
