SCOUT

Scout (A135018) is a 3-year-old Mastiff mix who weighed just under 80 pounds on intake! 06/25/24 This big guy is Scout! Scout was surrendered to the shelter because he is a big boy who does not understand his size, and with a new baby in the home, they wanted to be cautious. Scout was said to not be aggressive by any means towards small children but would knock them over accidentally. He also has a habit of jumping on people and truly thinks that he is a lap dog. Scout was said to be kennel-trained and housebroken. He did enjoy spending time outside in his fenced in yard. However, do keep in mind his prior owners did state that he was digger! Scout was also known to get into the trash if left unsupervised when indoors. Scout was a little hesitant meeting the care staff initially on intake, but with a few treats and good petting, he seemed to warm up. His prior owner did note that he strongly dislikes getting his nails trimmed and we recommend that he goes to a professional for any grooming. He would also highly benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners. He is a big, strong boy who will take you for a ride if permitted.
