Scooby -adopted

Scooby is a darling, tiny schnauzer/chihuahua mix who was surrendered to an OH shelter. The shelter was going to euthanize them but a worker took the litter home and cared for the babies until they were old enough to be neutered. They are barely 2 lbs. and are getting cuter every day. Scooby is looking for permanent accomodations in a loving home where he can spend many years entertaining his family and giving lots of love. If you think you are a good fit for this handsome little guy, please call Debbie at 740-610-8729 or fill out the application below. which includes neutering, all puppy shots, microchip, worming, etc. Adopting a dog that has been moved from a home to a shelter and then to a rescue is not for everyone. It takes time and patience to make that dog feel at home in his new environment. It takes at least 1 week and usually up to a month for a dog to acclimate to your schedule and home. An animal shelter is the most stressful place for a dog to be, with other dogs barking and not knowing what is happening around them. Some dogs come to their new home scared and timid. They will sometimes take several days before they start eating and have anything to do with the new adopters.

PLEASE, if you aren't willing to work with your new rescue and let them get to know you at their own pace, please don't apply for one of my dogs. Returning a dog within 24-48 hours of picking it up is hard on the dog and hard on the rescuer. Go to a breeder if you want a cute little puppy that wags its tail when he sees you. He hasn't been through what a rescue dog has been through.

It's not easy rescuing a dog. It takes patience and time and LOVE. These dogs need love and understanding, not another rejection.
