This is an incomparably sweet, sweet little girl. Sarah is about 1 yr old, all of 23.6 lbs (just a wee girl), and like all the lemon and white hounds that we have ever had...just has the sweetest temperament, most fun personality, and are lovey-dovey, great all around family dogs. These lemon and white hounds are one of the best kept secrets of the canine world (the other one is the black and tan coon hounds that look like floppy eared dobermans)....GRRR-EAT dogs all. Sarah is NOT a howler, digger or runner. She is great with other dogs, loves to play, but quiets beautifully and LOVES being with her 'peeps'! This charming darling has the most soulful gorgeous eyes, and is as elegant and graceful as a gazelle. She is very petite and delicate looking, but don't let that fool you...she can play and run with the best of them! We list her as foxhound, that being the most prevalent in these parts, but she displays a lot of whippet look; the long graceful limbs (and nose!). Very photogenic, I could take pictures of her all day. And the best parts? All this beauty, delightful personality, and laid-back temperament is encased in a well-behaved package; house-broken, crate trained, walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. Sarah's ideal home would be where she is an integral part of the family, gets lots of attention, has another dog to play with or has a 'running partner' (she is very fast), a fenced in yard, gets plenty of stimulation and exercise and is loved to pieces. An all day crate for her is not acceptable, outside alone all day is not acceptable...she would thrive in a home where she is one of the 'kids' or THE 'kid'. This enchanting little girl is playful, yet calm and quiet, she would be great for a shy little hooman girl who requires a patient, loving dog. Sarah is very passive and submissive. No harsh hands need apply, she is hardwired to please, just make sure YOU communicate clearly to her. Sarah's adoption fee is $125. Sarah is completely vetted; spayed, heartworm tested negative, up-to-date on all vaccines, plus rabies, wormed, deflead, and currently on heartworm preventative meds as well as a flea/tick preventative. Once submitted, the vet reference you provided will be contacted (if no vet, please provide 3 personal references, may be family and friends as long as they have a dog that you interact with) and then once approved, you will be contacted by the foster parent to discuss the animal and arrange the logistics for a visit. Our rescue group does not have a brick and mortar facility, all our animals are home fostered in our volunteer’s houses. You will be visiting a private residence. The application does not oblige you to adopt, nor does the visitation; the application just gives us more info to help ensure a good match. Our policy is that we always take our animals back should it prove to be a less than perfect match, or if you are unable or unwilling to care for the animal any longer.
