Sandy is estimated 20 months old. Sandy is doing well in foster care. She is now good friends with two male resident collies. The introduction took a couple of days but now they get along just fine. She still does look for a way out of the yard, but not as intensely as the first week, so she must be watched carefully. The first week here she found all the loose fence boards which is good since they have now been repaired and fortified. She needs to be watched very closely outside. Indoors, she is house trained and she does not mind the crate once she is in, some coaxing is required. Sandy is a sweet little girl at 42 pounds as of last week, although that will go up slightly as she enjoys more of the good diet. She loves to be close to people and will ask persistently for attention. In the short time I have had her she is learning `down' (to stop her from jumping on people) and `off' (to keep her of the couch when not appropriate) . She does love her perch on the couch close by and is learning appropriate courtesy. She also knows `sit'. Sandy will be a great addition to your family. Apply now to adopt this sweet heart!
Sandy Update October 2009:
Great news, Sandy is HW free and available now! Outside, she is learning to respond to being called. Her recall improves daily as she learns to come when called. She does not try to find a way out of the yard as intently as when she first arrived. With time she becomes more secure with her surroundings. Inside, she is very attentive and pays attention to her people. A cough or sneeze brings her right to the person to see if all is OK. She goes right into her crate and tolerates it well when I am away. Sandy is fun to have around; she is a happy girl and loves to be close to the action.
