SAMUEL HAUS was on his way to Animal Control because the back-yard breeder could not "sell" him. He was initially placed, but returned to rescue because he was too much puppy for the senior dog in the home. He is a big puppy...Lab/Mastiff mix, eleven months old. He has had puppy training classes, can sit, listens part of the time (typical for a distractable puppy), not great on a leash, a bit fearful of new things, loves to play (with the little dogs, the older dogs and people), fair housemanners, kennel trained, rides well (once he gets over the fear of getting into the vehicle), fairly smart (more Mastiff than Lab puppy), gentle natured and very loving (sometimes a bit intrusive). He is definitely in need of a home with time, energy and a fenced yard...he is wanting to bond and belong...so the right home is very important for him. He would do well with another dog who is not dominate...although he is not generally a dominate boy, he will stand his ground if encountered with an argument. He is definitely a big puppy...and will probably get a bit bigger. Continual training would be highly suggested...and would keep him busy and focused on his new "parents". He is beginning adolscense and in the wrong home, he will be a handful...he will need structure and training to become the loveable big dog he can become...one everyone will admire and like..
