My Story

Sampson is a young, tri color, 2-3 year old male. He came into rescue because his owner decided she wanted to travel and a dog didn't fit into her lifestyle. It would be so nice if people would remember that when they take a dog into their lives, it is a commitment for the rest of the animal's life.

We are finding that Sampson is quite a character! He knows sit, shake hands and loves to play with toys. Takes a bit to warm up but is very responsive after that. Does seem to be afraid of men and larger dogs. When Sammy came in, he had a wound on his neck. It appeared to be a bite wound from a dog attack. This may be the reason he does not like larger dogs.

Being a young dog, he would greatly benefit by an obedience class. We have found this helps with the bonding to his new family.

The foster home is exposing him to agility. An experienced, gentle, firm sheltie home that could bring out the best in him and a VISIBLE, SECURELY FENCED yard is a must for Sampson.

These pictures do not do Sampson justice. His coat has grown out and he is a beautiful, small shaltie.
