Sammy is a 10month old Pomeranian. He is approx 12-15lbs and due to his energy and ability to bounce all over the house and yard, we think he is part TIGGER!
Sammy is very energetic, loves to play with cats, is great with other dogs, loves alot of attention, doesn't like being alone much, is about 75% housebroken.
Sammy is a large "Victorian" type pom, has great teeth, very playful but calms down very easily, loves his walks, enjoys being brushed, loves to lay on his back in your arms and goes to sleep like a baby, you can't move your hand too quick towards him if he doesn't know you or he will give you a gentle nip (We are working on that by having friends come in to pet him), loves his ears and belly rubbed, dances about like he is a jack-rabbit (he is THAT springy), loves to be wherever you are, will only get up on the furniture if you tell/ask him to. Sammy was a stray, but he eats very well, doesn't play with toys at all (working on that too to let him be the puppy he is supposed to be), lays right at your feet if you are on the couch or computer, loves cheese no matter what kind, has to be in the kitchen with you if you are cooking (waiting for anything that falls), is VERY handsome and gives tons of love as long as he knows you love him and won't hurt him. I think in his former life that he has definitely been choked, or possibly picked up by the back on the neck roughly as he cowers and nips if you go at him with an open hand to rub his neck. Poor baby, he is much too young to have suffered such abuse!!
He is a sweet, loving little boy that gives tons of love and shows his appreciation for everything you do for him. As long as he is sure you won't hurt him he is fine. He is very young and will grow out of the unsure stage.
He doesn't like to be left alone long. He doesn't whine at night anymore. We call him "Sam I Am" from Dr Suess and he comes to that. He also likes it if you say he is a good baby. If another dog picks on him (for something to do I suppose), Sam runs to me and wants to be hugged.
He gets lots of hugs. He likes to put his head under your chin and doze. He also likes to put his head either under your arm (you aren't supposed to see him), or his forehead against your chest or your forehead. He'll even doze off that way. I have seen him doze off standing up !
He thrives on hugs and petting and lots of love. He came around very fast here for me. He is a real sweetheart.
