My Story

Hi everyone, this is Sally who is only one year old. She weighs approximately 60 pounds, and really needs to gain a few pounds. She has the head of a Labrador Retriever, the body of an Anatolian Shepherd and the big feet of a Cur, but her true blood line is anyone’s guess. She is our latest rescue from what apparently has become what we call a “dump site,” which is basically a place where people dump their dogs when they do not want them anymore. Sally is just darn right wonderful. Okay, I know all rescuers think the dogs they rescue are wonderful, but this girl really is, well and maybe actually better then wonderful. She went from being fed while living at this dump site yet always left behind, to a crazy woman putting her into a car with her young son staring at Sally, transporting her to the work site of another volunteer, to the vets office, then finally to a foster home and nothing seemed to upset her. She stayed calm, but always nosey through her ordeal of being “saved.” She loves to ride in a car and will try to help you drive if you let her. She enjoys petting from everyone, who will stop for a second in their busy lives to pay her any attention. She is active, but not bouncing off the wall active, so some good walks or a ball chasing game in the back yard will most likely be enough exercise for Sally. She does need to learn how to walk on the leash without pulling, but she is willing to help anyone do anything as long as she can come with you. Sally is ready for a new family, who will commit to her for a life time and not leave her at a “dump site” ever again. Are you that new family?
