Salem

Salem is a 9 month old boy who needs some special guidance and support. The first thing we noticed about Salem when he came into our care is that he was incredibly nervous. We could see that he wanted to connect with people, but when touched, he would flinch back and did not want to interact. Especially so, he did not like being handled around his head or neck at all. We knew then that he'd need some extra patience and care to help him. So far, he has gained some more confidence and we can see that he's really quite a goofy guy with a lot of love to give in his own way. Salem loves to explore new places, play fetch in our off leash run and work his growing brain! He's still just a young puppy, so he has lots of energy to spare and would likely make a great adventure buddy. So far he's made a few dog friends but still needs to work on developing proper dog social cues (he can be a bit too excitable and pushy sometimes). Though Salem is has made some improvements in been handled, he still panics if he feels restrained, overwhelmed or overstimulated. Continued training will be needed and a gentle approach will ensure he can become the best boy he can be.
