Sahara

Sahara is a spayed, female, medium energy, blue merle Aussie that is up-to-date on her shots and is approximately 7 years old (?) and 40 pounds. She is a very sweet girl! She is extremely curious about everything but very unsure of what things are and how she should act. She was an owner turn in from VA and is currently available for adoption. She is very shy with people at first but is a cuddle bug and loves everyone she has met including children. She loves you to sit on the floor with her! She doesn’t seem to quite understand what toys are for but we are working on that, she still loves the cuddles and pets though while you sit with her! She seems more comfortable outside than inside and plays really well with the other dogs. When outside, I have to coax her in and when inside, I have to coax her to go out. Inside the house, she likes to sit in our sunroom which has one door in and out and keep an eye on things from there. She does well with cats but is very unsure of them, the resident cats she is currently living with like to sit at the entrance of whatever room she is in and Sahara will go hide in the furthest corner she can! Leash walking is a work in progress. She is crate trained and well mannered in the house. I am trying to slowly expose her to new things and experiences so I took her to sit outside of Country Max. She was curious but nervous with the commotion. She was happy to let people greet her but startled every time the doors automatically opened/closed. She will need someone to work with her to slowly expose her to everything! She does not know commands but we are working on basic commands, sit, down, come. Overall, she is a super, sweet pup, she just doesn’t know what everything is but she is already half way there because although unsure of things she is super curious about everyone and everything and wants to try and interact with things!
