Arrival story: I was down on my luck, saved from a rural shelter where I was picked up as a stray with an embedded chain around my neck and heartworm positive.
Approximate age / weight: 2 years old and 55 lbs.
Personality: I’m an affectionate and playful boy who would love to have a buddy to play tug-of-war with. My new best pal needs to be a hands-on companion because I love to be petted and get tons of belly rubs! My buddy needs to be strong, too, because I am very strong myself! I am crate-trained and house-trained. I have lived in a home for a short time but have learned good house manners and a few basic commands like sit, down, leave it, shake paw, and I'm working on come and stay. I'm very smart, food motivated and eager to learn.
I eat my kibble meals from a kong toy because it's funner that way. I like other dogs, but I have a rough-housing play style that not all dogs can take, so I would do best as an only dog or with a laid-back female dog. I am fun and entertaining with my antics! I have many great qualities but unfortunately I am a bully breed mix and have an intense prey drive. I will chase anything that moves...bugs, squirrels, toads, etc.
Forever home: I want a strong, active buddy who has bully breed experience and isn’t shy about showing me affection!

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to [email protected]

Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $100 for senior dogs (9 years ), $275 for small breed dogs and $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
