Ruger-- Beauty!

He is a gorgeous dog! Ruger is an owner surrender because his owners lost their home and could not find a place that took pets (that they could afford anyway). He is a purebred black and tan Doberman Pinscher, born on 7/6/2008. He had his ears "done", but it failed, so one of his ears is down and one is up, making him oh-so cute!

I was told Ruger can be shy when he doesn't know someone, although he came right up to me when we first met. He warms up quickly, wagging his itty bitty tail.

He is fine with children, other dogs, and we don't know about cats. He is extremely playful and would love a dog playmate at home or have a friend that he can visit for some playtime. He was a regular at the local dog park. He likes to chase balls, but doesn't play fetch per se. He is cuddly and a couch potato when inside. He is house trained and does not need to be crated when you are not home, but he is crate trained.

His only vice is that he loves food and is a very tall boy, so getting the bread off the counter is a very easy thing to do. So, keep your counters clean! He sits and goes down very nicely. He will look at you when you say COME, but treats are still needed to make it appealing--such a goof!

This dog's adoption fee is $250 (plus tax). This includes being spayed/neutered, current on Rabies (if over 4 months old), Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations, wormed, microchipped with the HomeAgain microchip, heartworm tested (if over 7 months old) and medicated during the heartworm season (May-Dec) while in our care, comes with a Gentle Leader headcollar (if the fee ends in a 5).
