About Roxy: Roxy is a charming blue heeler mix with a warm heart and a sharp mind. Rescued by Animal A.I.D. from the streets after being abandoned, she’s now blossoming in her foster home and is ready to share her love with a new family. At just 25 pounds, Roxy is petite and full of personality. She’s intelligent, quick to learn, sensitive and affectionate. What Roxy Needs: Roxy thrives in a serene and gentle environment. She is sensitive and would flourish in a home where calmness prevails and where loud noises or harsh tones are avoided. She needs a special person who can offer patience, understanding, and a nurturing environment where she can truly shine. Additionally she needs a person who gets up and out on a regular basis. She loves to go on walks and can be off leash with the right supervision. Special Qualities: Smart and Trainable: Roxy is making progress with her retrieval skills and can be trusted off-leash with proper supervision. Sociable and Loving: She gets along well with other dogs, loves children (as long as they aren't scaring her) and forms strong bonds with people. Bedtime Buddy: Roxy dreams of a cozy spot in her new family’s bed. Although she hasn't slept in her foster mom's bed, she’ll form a deep bond with her new person if given this special place. Additional Details: Cats: While Roxy hasn’t met any cats, her gentle nature suggests she would likely adapt well to feline friends. Health: Roxy is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccinations and preventative care. We conduct virtual meet and greets for out-of-town applicants and can provide for transport (fee added to cost of adoption) to many northeastern states using a trusted transport company we have worked with for years. At this time we are not able to transport into Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine or Rhode Island.
