DONATIONS NEEDED for Heartworm Treatment Rocky was on his way to his new home when we found out that he was positive for Heartworms. The cost is going to be $500 - $600. When treatment is over, Rocky will once again be available for adoption.

Rocky is approximately 7 - 8 years old in these pictures taken February 13, 2010.. He came back to LP after his owners had to return him and his brother, Dillon, in October 2009 because they are moving and can't take the boys with them. The boys were adopted from LP in 2005.
This is what Rocky's mom says about him:
Rocky is the perfect gentleman with manners and will gladly shake your hand. He's a big teddy bear who loves chin scratches and ear rubs. Treat time really gets Rocky's tail wagging. He will sit as still as possible and catch whatever treat is on the menu-- he's a big fan of milkbones and rawhides. So sweet and calm, Rocky is a forever friend.
Neither boys are really trained on a leash so walking them may not be as smooth of a process as it should be. I'm sure with more training, it will become easier.
When it comes to cats, I wouldn't trust Rocky near one. He's kind of a hunter at heart too so expect him to run after squirrels, birds, etc.
Both boys are great indoors too-- they will let you know when they need to go outdoors to do their business, mainly by going to stand by the back door. If the future owners plan on leaving them indoors for a long period of time while not at home, I would recommend that the boys be surrounded with things they love, as I can see Dillon especially being curious and possibly chewing up what he might find to be a fun toy (if it is accessible to him).
