ROCKY

Rocky is a Basenji/Chihuahua mix who came to the shelter as a "stray". Though the couple that brought him to us said he had only been there for a week or so, they had given him a name (which he readily responds to), told us all about his habits (all which are true....none bad!), that he doesn't bark (which we have yet hear him do they he does do the yodeling) and that Mommy was going to miss him but she had many videos of him to remember him by. Also, when we estimated him to be 1-1.5 years of age, the wife quickly responded that he was still less than 1 year of age, being around 9 mths. So, for him to have been a stray for only 1 wk, they really knew a lot about him! The one thing they were wrong on is that he was a purebred Basenji, which he clearly is not. We do believe him to have Basenji in him due to his coloring, demeanor and lack of barking, but he is much shorter is heighth and he is lacking the double curled tail common to the Basenji. Regardless of what Rocky is, he is a fabulous boy! He weighs around 15 lbs and is extremely well-mannered, quiet and cute as he can be and appears housetrained. He would be an ideal house companion for just about any type of family. Rocky will be neutered, current on vaccinations, dewormings and rabies prior to leaving us.
