My owner recently and suddenly passed away and I am SO sad and lonely. I loved my owner dearly and was deeply devoted to him. I am a 9 yr old rescued Plott Hound. I had a rough start to life before being rescued from the south, but I was SO grateful to finally find my owner that rescued me. I LOVE spending time outside and sniffing about as I am a hound. I also LOVE being right against or near people, and sometimes like to lay in people’s laps even though I’m about 85 pounds. I love being petted and talked to, and have been told I am a good listener. Oh and I love to snuggle up in my favorite recliner and just hang out with you. I am active, but have a chill personality. I am great on a lead line outside and do good with the invisible fence, although a fenced in yard would be preferable. I love car rides, and walks, but do not get along with dogs so should not be walked in areas with other dogs or be around other dogs. Therefore, an aware owner, and one that is stronger to help me continue to learn to heel and be patient with me, is preferable. I have lived in a home with a dog-savvy cat and can be cat-tested again to assess my fit for a home with a cat. I do bark at passing walkers, but am not a constant barker. I am fantastic at letting you know when I need go to the bathroom and I don’t have accidents. I am ok with some basic commands, but my owner was unable to regularly practice the commands with me. I might benefit from private one on one training or evaluation (for suggestions and tips to resume some of my training) so I can CONTINUE to be the best version of me. I am not very tall, but stalky. I am not a typical jumper, but might jump up to say hello to new people and ask for a pet. Please consider me If you’re looking for an adoring and smart dog who has been through a lot, but has SO MUCH love I want to give you. One look in my eyes and you will be hooked.
