My Story

Riley is a sweet boy that was found dumped with two other doggies on one of the coldest days in January 2006. Our rescue group has never seen a dog this frightened and insecure. When we first rescued him (and for months afterwards) he was wide-eyed from fear. We believe that he had very limited contact with people. However, he is great with other dogs and is more comfortable around dogs than people.

Because of Riley's extreme fear of people, he is a high risk for running away. He can climb fences that you would think would be impossible to climb and he would never come back. His foster mom takes him out on a leash and he is still afraid if he sees a person - even in the distance, but has learned that they are not coming to get him. He is very strong when afraid and could easily get away while in this state of mind. Riley is comfortable in his foster home and is starting to like his early AM and late PM walks. Riley is making progress - however, very slowly. He loves mornings, eating, his foster mom, playing with his doggies buddies and his tail wags a lot now. He is turning into a happy boy! He is so sweet and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. We hope that Riley will learn to trust others (not only his foster mom) soon! He needs a quiet and patient home with other dogs. He is fine with cats too, but loves to play with doggie friends.

Please contact us via email ( [email protected]) if you are interested in Riley. Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog!
