Riley- adopted!

Riley came in as a stray to the Dawson Creek SPCA. His owners decided not to claim him because he was being left along for 12 hours a day. This 7 year old Pit mix was used to rural living, and found himself a bit over-whelmed, and desperately looking for someone to bond with. He was very depressed when he first came into our care, but Erin, Allan, and kids spoiled him rotten. Gayle and Michael had always had a purebred, well-bred dog in their lives, but had fallen in love with a Pit Bull Cross when travelling in Mexico. They had decided it was time to rescue a dog, and needed one that would get along well with their two cats. Riley has fit himself nicely into their lives. Gayle and Michael live right by the beach in Vancouver, and are retired so he gets tons of attention. He is signed up for basic obedience classes and is settling well into city life!

Update from Riley's foster home- Jan 19th:
Riley is a dream dog, he has fit right in with all of us. My 8 year old daughter and him are as thick as theives and spend alot of time to together. He loves to go for walks in the park and is slowly getting use to the busy city streets once he realized the big scarey garbage truck isn't out to get him. lol Riley really respects your personal space and does not enter any room until you invite him in, he is the same way with furniture so he definetly was well trained. He doesn't beg or whine, no uncalled for barking or growling either. He doesn't try to actively engage other dogs while on a leash walking but he isn't put off by them walking near by either. He loves to be pet but he is just as happy being left alone. He listens extremely well and follows comands with an exellent accuracy. He puts up with my 3 years olds need to interact with him constantly and puts up with it all never complaining.When night fall hits Rileys head hits the pillow, he is out for the night. He is fine home alone and he is more then happy to head out on an adventure with you. The fact he is 7 is unbelievable since he is so agile and frisky. He has made some canine friends and he does awesome off leash even with my friends senior dog who is generally not too friendly. He prefers small dogs and absoultely loves cats.All the neighbourhood cats know him now and come out to say hi on our daily route. Riley would be a much needed edition to any home looking for a pit mix dog.

Riley is now in the Lower Mainland in foster care with Bully Buddies. Living with a busy family and two kids- thank-you to them for taking Riley into their home during the holidays! He is great with cats and kids, and is an all around AMAZING catch. Just fine being left aone, he is a great moderate energy dog, and is a fine match for a first time Pit owner.

Riley is a 7 year old Pit Bull X Pointer. He has a Pointer body and personality, with Pit Bull colouring and matching souful eyes. He is a big sweetheart. He knows some commands and they are sit, down, come, stay, shake a paw, speak and our favourite is when you say "cheese" he smiles!! He is a cuddly guy and needs someone who will give him all the love in the world. He has lived peacefully with other dogs and cats!!
