Riley originally came to us from our county municipal shelter after completing her stray hold and not being reclaimed. She was going crazy in the shelter and they had no room to hold her. A couple days after we took her in, we posted her looking for a foster home and received some messages, emails, and phone calls. It turned out Riley had an owner! We were so excited to reunite her with her family. Unfortunately, the excitement didn't last long. Riley's owner was very upset she had to be spayed before he could have her back. We explained it's required by the department of agriculture for her to be altered, and as he was a lawyer, he would be understanding right? Not at all. Ultimately, we got Riley spayed and she was picked up and went home to a begrudging and rather ungrateful owner. You see, Riley was truly at risk to be euthanized when we pulled her from the shelter. I wish this was the end of her tale but as you can see, she's back with us. Turns out, Riley ended up at the shelter, again, as a stray a couple months later. And this time, he signed her over and didn't want her back. Poor Riley had no idea what she did and was so sad and depressed. It took some time for her to go back to her smiley self. Lots of treats, toys, cuddles, and playing with friends. Now Riley is a current Hamilton Hound and learning her manners! While prison life can be very stressful, Riley was a little unsure at first of this big loud scary place, thinking she was at another shelter again. But this time she is surrounded by all the love and cuddles she could ever need. She loves school and playing with her friends and is doing amazing with her training. Now it's just time to find her TRUE forever home.
