Riley

If Labradors appeal, do we have the dog for you! Riley is a beautiful 6 month old, black lab mix, with a white swath on his throat and chest. He also has a unique left eye--half is ice blue! A social butterfly, Riley loves adults, kids, other dogs, and cats, and is happiest when he has someone to play or just chill or cuddle with. He'll stay at his foster's feet while she's at the computer, or if he's playing elsewhere, he'll come back frequently to check on her and proofread her work. You can tell he's a lab mix-- Riley can't get enough of splashing and getting doused with the hose. He'd be the perfect partner for kids that like to go wild in the sprinkler! His zoomies are spectacular, and his antics will keep you in stitches. Riley enjoys training, with lots of treats and positive reinforcement, and is a quick learner, especially since this is a time of engagement and bonding. He does great on a leash, and has just started crate training. Riley is almost a graduate of potty training school, with only an occasional accident. He's got the idea, though, so commencement is just around the corner. His fosters haven't found it necessary to crate him, since when they've left the house, he hasn't been destructive --truly incredible for a six month old. To quote his foster, "Riley is a dog on a schedule." He knows the routine at their house, and while he waits for them to get up in the morning, quietly plays with his toys. His amazing internal food clock always knows when it's time to eat, and napping is high on his list of priorities. In the evening, he's ready for some outside time, and loves a good romp or a walk. Riley would thrive in a home where he can be inside with his people, but have access to the outdoors, too. Extremely social, he is happiest with companionship, and he'd be terrific with anyone willing to give him attention, be it single adults, or families with children and other animals. Riley's got it all--brains, beauty, social skills, and most of all, the desire to please and be part of a loving family. Could you be that family? Meet him and you'll want to.
