RETTA

RETTA Retta is a 4 year old, female mastiff mix that weighs 85 lbs. And if ever there was a dog that needed rescue, Retta is it! She came to us through a local shelter. Her owner had passed away the year prior and family took her in. Then, somehow, she wandered off and lived in the median of a busy interstate for months. During that stay, she broke her back leg (long since healed). Retta, is, well, reticent in demeanor. The good news is, somehow, she survived on her own. Long periods of time for a dog on the run, however, can also leave them somewhat feral. We know she lived in a good home prior to all this so we are busy helping her turn her reticence in resilience! She is in a great foster home and engaging nicely with her foster mom and the other dogs there. Retta is ready for adoption. The dog we see now has a kind, gentle soul but it's deep. She'll wait until she's sure you'll appreciate her. Then, when you least suspect it, the bounce and the play come out and it's game on! Her perfect home will be an adult home, preferably with a female owner. She'll need a fenced in yard to prevent her from ever wandering again. If properly introduced, she is fine with other dogs.
