Reno

Reno is a senior Great Dane who deserves a comfy home to enjoy his retirement. Typical of Great Danes, Reno can be reserved when meeting people and in new situations. Once he gets to know you he loves to have his ears rubbed and will gently rub his head against you to tell you "Keep it up!" He is great with children that approach him slowly and want to give him loving attention. Reno gets startled if anyone approaches him too quickly so a home with very young children may be stressful for him. He has a gentle soul and will thrive in a patient and compassionate home. Reno also gets along very well with other dogs and is quite respectful when they assert their boundaries. Being a senior dog has its pros and cons. Reno is housebroken and crate trained, walks politely on a leash (his foster family's 6 year old daughter can safely walk him,) and he's outgrown bad habits like chewing, chasing the cats, and clearing the counter tops. Unfortunately because of his age Reno has some special needs. Reno can occasionally be unsteady on his feet and may require medication as he ages to keep him comfortable. Reno also has some problems with his eyes that will require lifelong care. Reno is currently underweight but gaining quickly. He can be shy about his food so it is very important he has a quiet place to eat to ensure he gets enough. Reno has enriched the lives of his foster family in a very short time. He sticks to his foster mom like glue and slowly wraps his body around her when she's giving him attention. They are hopeful he finds a forever home soon where he can live out the rest of his life being pampered. Can you show this Dane how Great he truly is?
