Reggie

THIS DOG IS IN A FOSTER HOME AND IS NOT AT THE SHELTER. CALL OR EMAIL FOR INFO. Reggie is a very bashful beagle/shepherd mix who weighs 44lbs and is estimated at about 1.5yrs of age. He was rescued at a busy highway intersection with a female in heat (Gypsy is also shown on this site). He is not only gentle and sweet with people and children, but he is so good with other dogs that he just cowers if one of the other dogs in his foster home threatens or jumps on him. To show how he fails to show aggression with other dogs, once he got to his foster home, one of the other foster dogs who was recently neutered (and, of course, still had residual hormones) decided to take over as Gypsy's "husband"; and Reggie permanently deferred to him after having the other dog's aggression inflicted on him several times. He is nervous around very young children and would do best in a home where he could have the attention and guidance of an adult or ultra-responsible older child. He is housetrained and a sweet, quiet companion, who would make a good family member. Reggie is loving but not clingy and lies around quietly awaiting the human affection such a good boy deserves.
