Raisin

Hi everybody. I’m Raisin and I want to introduce myself to you. I’m a quiet little man of 13 years. I had a happy family with my dog siblings Oatmeal and Cookie, but I found myself looking for a new family a couple of months ago. I’ve been all fixed up with clean teeth and a little lump removed from my side, so now I’m all ready for my furever home! I’m a very good boy in the house and only go potty outside. I know some basic commands, but like most chihuahuas, I choose when to pay attention to them. My favorite things are snuggling, sleeping, going for walks to keep my trim weight of 8 pounds, riding in a booster seat in the car, laying in the warm sun in the mornings, and snuggling some more. I can jump on and off the couch and the bed quite easily, so you don’t have to lift me very often. I love to lay in my human’s lap and sleep next to them at night. I have a heart murmur and arthritis and need some medication in my food twice a day to keep me at my optimal performance. I get along well with other dogs, but small children make me nervous. I might take a few hours to get to know a new person, but after that I’m good. And once I claim you, I will be your protector on walks if scary leaves or blowing paper threaten you. I will stay in a crate when you are not home, but I would rather not be left alone for long periods of time. If I am home with a dog buddy while you are gone, it is better for me. I will be super happy when you get back and will do some zoomies for you. Please consider taking me to your home. I have some good years left and want my own person to share them with.
